Hi, my name is Jeremy, but please call me Jezz.

Like many others, I left school unsure where I belonged in the world or who I wanted to become; I managed to navigate that journey, which I share in more detail in a blog post on my website.

Later in life, I experienced the challenges of struggling with psychological and emotional difficulties, and it took a long time to feel like myself again. What made the difference was engaging in professional therapy and trusting the therapeutic relationship.

That was quite some time ago, and now that I am a therapist myself, I aim to offer psychotherapeutic counselling for adults who are facing all kinds of experiences, challenges and difficulties in their lives and the impact on their psychological and emotional wellbeing; often in ways that leave them feeling not OK about themselves, about others and/or their place in the world.

This approach often brings me into contact with adults who want to explore unpleasant life experiences, challenges, and difficulties; their relationships, identity and their potential for personal fulfilment, freedom, and intimacy.

Also, I will not pretend I am ‘the expert’ on you or your life. I am a relational therapist, which means I work alongside you. I may at times gently challenge you in a respectful, compassionate, and non-judgmental manner. I will encourage you to be your own author and to reclaim your own power and authority for being-in-the-world.

Therapy with me is a reflective space to be with your experiences, thoughts, and feelings, without guilt or shame. Here, you can begin to feel OK to be yourself, even if others disapprove or if you presently feel the world is a scary, unpredictable, and uncertain place.

As your therapist, I will work at a pace that matches your readiness for change, because I believe everyone who is suffering is fundamentally OK, even when they are struggling to make meaning from their struggles, challenges, and difficulties.

Therapy is not necessarily about fixing anything in particular or fixing what is “wrong” with you. It is about allowing awareness and understanding, so you have a choice about who you are and how you want to experience being-in-the-world.

So, if you feel unsettled, stuck, or uncertain about who you are, what matters to you, or how you want to live your life; or if you “just want to be yourself,” but feel pressure to be someone you’re not—a version of you that feels “fake” – whether that pressure comes from your own expectations or from other people – let us make a start, together, for a change…
