Why Online Counselling?

Short Answer: Covid – Global Pandemic!

Longer Answer…

At first, I wasn’t a big fan of moving from face-to-face counselling to Online counselling.

But the Global COVID-19 Pandemic meant that all therapists had to respond responsibly, and it soon became apparent that the only secure way was to move online.

Soon, after switching to online counselling I, along with many other therapists, became a bit of a convert.

Here’s Why:

Online Therapy is different but ultimately Safe, secure and confidential.

Online is different and just as effective as face-to-face counselling; it’s also cost-effective and convenient for the client.

Business Costs…

My overheads no longer need to account for paying out for business premises or renting therapy rooms, and I no longer need to travel to and from work.

This meant that I could pass on the savings to my clients by deducting those overheads from my fees.

Additionally, it is my understanding that many of my clients were also able to make savings on their own travel costs and commuting time to and from therapy.

Furthermore, it’s simple to attend a 60-minute Zoom appointment because I send the invitation and the technology does all of the rest automatically.

Ultimately, it’s a great way of being in therapy too, because online ‘therapy space’ is safe, secure and confidential, it’s less intimidating (no waiting rooms and therefore no wondering if you will bump into someone you know) this allows people to relax, be more relational and feel in control of the whole experience
