U First Therapies offers three different services:
1. Therapeutic Psychotherapy – usually known as: ‘psychotherapy’, ‘Counselling’ or simply ‘Therapy’
2. Clinical Hypnotherapy – or simply ‘hypnosis’
3. A combination of Therapeutic Psychotherapy and Clinical Hypnotherapy
What is Clinical Hypnotherapy?
Clinical Hypnotism can be misunderstood because it can be mixed up with stage and street hypnotism.
The truth is, stage and street hypnotism is a theatrical performance and its purpose is entertainment.
It is performed with the cooperation of consenting participants and can be fun to watch or participate in, but it is not Clinical Hypnotherapy.
Clinical Hypnotherapy is a genuine psychological therapy endorsed by the NHS. https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/hypnotherapy/
Clinical Hypnotherapy induces a state of focused and relaxed attention, a bit like daydreaming.
In this state clients work with the hypnotherapist to develop new ways of thinking, feeling, and behaving to create the life they want and deserve.
5 things to remember about Clinical Hypnotherapy
- You can reject any suggestions that do not feel right to you
- You will only accept suggestions that are in agreement with your beliefs
- You can bring yourself out of hypnosis any time you wish
- You cannot be hypnotised against your will
- Hypnosis is safe because you stay in full control all of the time
