A few things about me:
I am proud to have been born in Hull.
Like many, after leaving school I ventured out to discover my place in the world. I held down a couple of low paid jobs until eventually pursuing a dream to become a professional performer and attended a well-known stage school ‘down south’. After three years of study, I began a long and successful career as a performer and teacher, travelling to many parts of the UK, and meeting lots of different folk from all walks of life.
Along the way, I’ve picked up a First Class Honours Degree, a teaching qualification, and a Masters degree, together with, Therapeutic Psychotherapy, Transactional Analysis and Clinical Hypnotherapy qualifications.
Now and again life has thrown me a few curve-balls. From run-of-the-mill niggles to those occasional and often unexpected problems that I’ve experienced as overwhelming. I’ve had my share of emotional wounds to make sense of, and that’s where therapy can make a genuine difference in smoothing the progress for healing.
Deeply rooted in my very bones is an enthusiasm to enable others to realise their full potential. After redundancy, I changed my career direction and kept my enthusiasm to enable others to overcome, the overwhelming and heal their emotional wounds; I became a therapeutic psychotherapist also known as a counsellor or simply therapist.
In the photograph above, I’m with one of my dogs. I have five dogs and a cat. I love the outdoors; whether walking muddy footpaths through our great countryside, along the beach or popping into the garden to check-out the flowers; although, I can’t take any credit for them because it’s my partner who has the green fingers in our relationship.
